If you've recently installed Internet Explorer 6 you may have encountered a blank page when trying to view an email on stationery. This is usually related to the new security settings and can be changed.
For detailed and easy to use instructions to enable stationery viewing again, please check the Scrippy website FAQ page.
If you need further help, the folks at Cloudeight Stationery have done an excellent job of providing stationery information related to changes made after updating to Windows Service Pak 2.

Downloading
Stationery:
- Click a stationery thumbnail to start the download. You'll need a program like the previously freeware Winzip or one of the many other compression programs to unzip or extract the compressed file
- Unzip the eml file to a convenient folder. Do not unzip them to your Outlook Express Stationery folder since only htm or html files are viewable in its Select Stationery window
Fonts:
- When downloading compressed fonts unzip them to a temporary folder and see my instructions below if you're new to installing fonts
- On some systems fonts should be installed rather than unzipped directly into the Windows Fonts folder

Open the folder where you keep your emls and double-click a little envelope icon. A New Message window will open with your stationery ready for you!
Some comments on the advantages of emls as opposed to htm/html files.

Using Scrippy Stationery
When you open my Scrippy stationery you'll see an area with the words "Text Here". Can't see them? Scroll down the page, if necessary.
- the secret to keeping the text formatting is to highlight the words "Text Here" and type your message right over them. Do not delete them
- in older Scrippy stationery you may need to access the text box by slowly double-clicking first
General Stationery Tips:
- click the Preview tab below the message area to see how your message will appear to the receiver
- click the Preview* tab to see if your email button is working properly
- no tabs below your message window? Click View in the menus at the very top of a message, then click Source Edit. This will enable the tabs you need to get the most out of your stationery

Once you have your stationery open in Outlook Express click the email button you'll see in the text area. Then click the hyperlink icon next to the picture icon on the formatting toolbar.

In the Hyperlink window that opens you'll see my webaddress or my email address. Press your Delete key to remove it.

Click the down arrow at Type and select "mailto:" if it isn't already selected.
In the URL area, type your email address after "mailto:" , then click OK.

Remember to save your change by going up to File/Save As to save your customized eml stationery with your other emls. That's all there is to it!
TIP: If you want to confirm your change, click the Preview tab, then click the email button. A New Message window should open with your email address in it.

Finding your Fonts folder:
- in Windows 9x at Start/Settings/Control Panel
- in Windows XP at Start/Control Panel/Appearance & Themes
- in Explorer look toward the bottom of your C drive for the Windows folder. Click the + next to the folder to expand the directory and reveal the Fonts folder there
- Once you locate the Fonts folder, click or double-click it to display your currently installed fonts
To install a new font:
- go up to File/Install New Font, and in the bottom of the window that opens browse to the temporary folder to which you've unzipped your new fonts
- Double-click to open it and you'll see the fonts displayed in the window above
- Select the fonts you want installed, click OK and your fonts are ready for use!
TIP: Windows XP will automatically install a new font that has been dragged and dropped into its Fonts folder. But be warned that some fonts are fussy and need to be properly installed to display!
TIP: Open and minimize your uninstalled fonts just for short term use. For convenience and overall system performance it's best to limit your installed fonts to 500 or fewer.

Mute Sound Button
You'll find a hidden mute sound button in many stationeries here.
- hover your cursor over the upper right hand corner above the text to reveal the popup button
- one click will operate it either way!
Internet Explorer users: try it here. Close the window to return to this page.

That Ugly Black Line
The black lines and those > symbols you see down the left hand side of your beautiful stationery, and especially on plain text messages, can easily be eliminated:
- In the main Outlook Express interface click Tools, then Options, then Send tab.
- At Mail Sending Format, for both HTML & Plain Text, click each of the buttons opposite and uncheck any boxes that say "indent".
The above change will eliminate not only the black line but also the > symbols before each line of text.
